Blockdaemon’s CEO believes that Celo’s ecosystem will soon be like the „Paypal fast“ that will handle its own native currencies.

Celo will be like the „last generation PayPal“ that will operate with its own currencies, says the CEO of BlockdaemonNOTICIAS

Since the launch of the Alliance for Prosperity earlier this year, the Zeal payment network has quickly become an apparent rival to Facebook’s Libra project.

Cointelegraph spoke with Konstantin Richter, CEO and founder of Blockdaemon, a member of the Zeal alliance, to learn about the experience of working on Zeal from the beginning and to understand what the Zeal ecosystem will look like in the near future.

Blockdaemon was launched in 2017, and comprises a blockchain infrastructure and a node provider aimed at developers and companies.

While Richter noted that the downward trend of 2018 had a significant impact on many of the company’s clients, he said that in the last nine months there has been „exponential growth“ for Immediate Bitcoin, as more recent projects like Celo and Algorand gained momentum.

Blockdaemon joins Celo in 2019

Richter said the teams began working together in mid-2019, with Blockdaemon as one of the first node traders on the project.

Looking ahead, Richter predicts that Celo has „a widely used and integrated platform for launching stable tokens and allowing people to perform physical transactions using their mobile devices with those tokens.

„The vision of the Celo project is to connect ? people who are traditionally excluded from using the current legacy financial infrastructure with a new way of operating their finances.

Richter expects the platform to facilitate trading and payments in focus areas such as Africa, Latin America and other developing regions that have significant unmet demand for financial services from ordinary people.

„I see it as a fast PayPal, with its own native currencies.

Blockdaemon supports node operations

Richter emphasized the benefits of working at Celo from the beginning, noting that Blockdaemon helped build the fundamental structure of Celo’s network architecture and design tools for developers.

„Celo is a network that requires active participation over time, so it is one of the networks where we intend to support the operation of thousands of nodes,“ he said. „We are investing heavily in infrastructure and in Celo in building protocols and solutions that will help this particular ecosystem over time.

Blockdaemon also operates an active validation group for Celo and sits on the board of directors.

Blockdaemon receives donation from Celo

Blockdaemon was announced among the founding members of the Alliance for Prosperity of Zeal in March, including a huge group of developers and entrepreneurs working to build the Zeal ecosystem.

Blockdaemon recently received a grant from Celo, and DiMento stated that Blockdaemon will use the grant for its blockchain package manager, an add-on designed to optimize the deployment of nodes on the network.

„Democratizing node operations across a broad user base is what keeps these networks running smoothly,“ Richter said.
